Paulina loves anything that has to do with music and dance. In my opinion, she should have advanced last year, but the level she was at was flooded with amazing young musicians. This year she received honorable mention. Congratulations, Paulina!
Edmar had been taking lessons for less than a year and a half when he entered the contest. He is a wonderfully musical young person. My hats off to you! you really should have earned a trophy, but unfortunately, I am biased!!!
Vivi is the youngest sibling of Alex and Paulina, yet even with the talent that is wrapped up in her older siblings, she is determined to make her mark! Though she is just in first grade, she had the courage and wherewithal to enter this years contest. Even though she did not advance, she is a winner! Go Vivi!
This young lady has so much talent, that during lockdown she took Bollywood lessons!! She sings along when she plays, and her personality is just, simply, infectious! To know her, is to love her. Although she did not advance, she played amazingly well, and then went on to play her sonatina at her school on Arroyo's Got Talent Night... watch out for Aria, she is predestined!
Karissa is a transfer student who honestly did not know how to read music unless it had numbers of fingers written to notes. I have helped her to learn the true language of music, and she continues to shine with her amazing smile and sparkle. She did not advance, sadly, but her stick to it ness has made her an awesome little musician who, during virtual lessons, would hide from the camera, to one who loves to attend in person lessons and practice to get better... it helps that she wants to get better than her older brother. ;-)
Alex is now in middle school and is currently playing full on Sonatas. Playing a sonatina is "small talk" but he has learned even that needs a little bit of refinement and technique. He played amazingly well, yet was not selected to advance. This video was on the day that Jason Wanner held a master class with me.
